Pastor & Staff

Rev. Bette Hedden

Senior Pastor

Pastor Bette is recently widowed. She was married to Michael for 23 years; they have a total of four children together, and eight grandchildren, ranging in ages ‘under 1 year’ to 8 years old. Bette loves animals, holds a community Blessing of the Animals Service on the first Saturday in October every year, and there is usually a much-loved dog around the house. Bette loves Music and has played the flute since she was a child. For fun she loves to read mysteries and she loves classic movies.

Bette was commissioned in 2016 and is now appointed to St. Paul UMC. Prior to this appointment she served Cokesbury UMC, Aldersgate UMC, Montgomery Memorial UMC, Glenn Memorial UMC and Wesley Woods Methodist Home in Atlanta. She graduated from Candler School of Theology at Emory University with an MDiv in 2014. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Southern Wesleyan in 2010.

Prior to attending Seminary Bette was a certified professional consultant specializing in Project Management. Bette resigned from ‘Corporate Life’ in August 2011 to start her studies at Candler School of Theology. Prior to Seminary, she was an active member of the Order of St. Luke, the National Flute Association, and the Project Management Institute. She has performed with local universities in each city of her appointments and lead a prison ministry (2016–2020) where she created a weekly music program for the women of Leath Correctional. She loves to teach Bible Study and enjoys going out into the community where she lives to find new needs and ministries.
